Organizations are successfully using project management concepts to deal with competitive markets, financial pressures to improve performance, restructuring and globalization. Project management provides value to organizations facing pressures to complete efforts “faster, better and cheaper.”

Sound project management is not overhead. This session will provide participants with an overview of the essential elements of project management and the project management life cycle. Participants gain an understanding of the techniques and practice of project management and gain practical experience with approaches to achieving successful project performance.

Presenter:

This session will be presented by Jeffrey Manhardt, Manager—Technology Program Management Office at M & T Bank and VP, Technology & Business Services of the Project Management Institute (PMI) Buffalo Chapter. Jeff is a strategic technology leader with over 18 years of a proven track record achieving project & program management objectives while utilizing situational leadership to manage global teams. Jeff received his PMP® certification in May 2005 and has served on the PMI Buffalo chapter Board since 2007. Jeff has also served as Adjunct professor at Canisius College Center for Professional Development. He holds a BS degree in Business Management from D'Youville College and is the principal owner of the Dramjam Consulting organization
